2010 Marston Family Vineyard Estate Cabernet SauvignonThe 2010 growing season began with considerable winter rainfall, delaying bud break almost three weeks. The late spring and moderate summer months were complemented by the increased sun exposure of our hillside blocks above the morning fog, and our canopies weathered the extreme heat conditions of late August with minimal impact. Harvest concluded on 27 October, and the cooler vintage produced clusters with beautiful natural acidity and optimal phenological ripeness, proportionate with elegant tannins and intense fruit characteristics. Following natural fermentation it was abundantly clear that our young wine possessed the balance and intensity of a grand vin.

“I've always been drawn to the elegance of the 2010 Estate. The perfume on the nose captured me immediately during aging, combining forest raspberry with rose and tea leaves. On release freshness was the hallmark, but patience allowed the fruit to come forward in a balanced expression. I love this wine for its purity and depth.”
